Subscribe on AWS Marketplace

Subscribing starts on AWS Marketplace which then forwards to StackOps Service app. To subscribe and install StackOps takes less than 5 minutes.

tip

tl;dr version is :

  1. Subscribe on StackOps product listing on AWS Marketplace.
  2. In the green bar that appears, click the white Set up your account button and register with you email.
  3. Click the Launch on AWS button to create a stackops stack using AWS Cloudformation console.
  4. Fill in the LicenseKey and AuthorizedUserArns parameters - cf AWS Principals for valid values.
  5. After the stack is created, use url shown in the Outputs tab to log in.

Subscribe and Install Steps​

Step 1: Subscribe on AWS Marketplace​

  1. Log into the AWS console.
  2. Navigate to the StackOps product listing on AWS Marketplace.
  3. Click the orange View purchase options or Try for free button.
  4. Click the orange Subscribe button.
  5. In the green bar that appears, click the white Set up your account button.

Step 2: Register with Ngin to Obtain a StackOps Product License Key​

  1. Enter your email address - an email will be sent to you.
  2. Open the email and click the confirmation link - this will redirect you back to the StackOps Service app.
  3. On the opened web page, enter a password - you will be logged into the StackOps Service.
  4. Enter your name and address details.
  5. Agree to the license terms and conditions - an icon to copy the license key and an icon to install StackOps will appear.
  6. Click the copy icon to copy the license key to your clipboard.
  7. Click the Launch on AWS icon (see tip below) - this will forward you to the AWS CloudFormation console.
tip

If you wish to install StackOps into an AWS Account that is different from the Marketplace subscription account, switch AWS Accounts before clicking on the Launch on AWS icon.

Step 3: Create AWS CloudFormation Stack to Install StackOps​

  1. Confirm that the Prerequisite - Prepare template details page in the AWS CloudFormation console is pre-filled with StackOps details.
  2. Click the Next orange button to go to the Specify stack details page.
  3. Paste the copied LicenseKey parameter from your clipboard.
  4. Enter a comma-separated list of AWS Principals into the AuthorizedUserArns field.
  5. Click the Next orange button to proceed to the Configure stack options page.
  6. Click the Next orange button again to proceed to the Review stack details page.
  7. Scroll to the Capabilities section at the bottom.
  8. Click the checkbox to acknowledge that AWS CloudFormation might create IAM resources with custom names.
  9. Click the Submit orange button.

Step 4: Display StackOps Login​

  1. Wait for the AWS CloudFormation stack to complete.
  2. Select the stackops stack from the AWS CloudFormation Stacks console web page.
  3. Select the Outputs menu item for the stackops stack.
  4. Select the AccessUrl value link to display the login page for StackOps.
